Golub Capital is Joint Bookrunner and Syndication Agent in Support of Norwest Equity Partners’ Acquisition of Surgical Information Systems, LLC

CHICAGO, Jan. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Golub Capital today announced it acted as Joint Bookrunner and Syndication Agent to finance a senior credit facility with co-investment equity to support the acquisition of Surgical Information Systems, LLC (“SIS” or the “Company”) by Norwest Equity Partners (“NEP”), a leading middle market equity investment firm.  Golub Capital worked closely with Wells Fargo Capital Finance (“WFCF”), part of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) who served as Joint Bookrunner and Administrative Agent, to close the transaction.

Based in Alpharetta, GA, SIS provides certified software solutions that are considered “best-of-breed” and are uniquely designed to add value at every point of the perioperative process.  Developed specifically for the complex surgical environment, all SIS solutions – including anesthesia – are architected on a single database and integrate with other hospital systems.  SIS offers the only surgical scheduling system endorsed by the American Hospital Association (AHA), and a rules-based charging system that has been granted Peer Reviewed status by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

“Since a hospital’s operating room can drive as much as 80% of its profitability, the software used in the O.R. needs to deliver market advantages to improve clinical outcomes, enhance operational effectiveness and increase financial profitability.  As a leading best-of-breed software vendor, SIS hits the mark with its customers and is well positioned for sustained growth,” stated Stefano Robertson, a Golub Capital Principal.

“We are excited to partner with NEP and believe that their established IT and healthcare verticals will help the Company successfully achieve its objectives for growth,” Robertson continued.

“As we considered the financing needs of the Company, we knew we needed partners who could offer a quick read and would reliably close on those terms.  The combined healthcare and software teams from Golub did just that, moving from start to finish in just over five weeks.  In conjunction with WFCF, Golub provided the flexibility and efficiency that we were looking for,” said Tim Kuehl, a Partner with NEP.
